Ramen VS Tsukemen

Hi :)

So I'm guessing a lot of you like Ramen, right?

I know, I'm a really big fan of it too.

But let me ask you one thing...

Do you guys know what Tsukemen is?

It's kinda like Ramen, but the noodles and the soup are served in two separate bowls,
and you take some noodles and dip them into the soup, and then eat it.

The noodle is normally cold or in room temperature, and the soup is very hot.

Like I said above, I'm a big fan of Ramen.

But I like Tsukemen even more.

Let me tell you a place in Yoyogi, that serves absolutely the BEST Tsukemen ever!

This place is called "Men-Koidokoro Isoji". A lot of people just calls it "Isoji" though.

The Tsukemen noodles are very thick here, and these thick noodles catches the salty,
but really tasty soup made from pork and fish broth when you dip the noodles in it.

And let me tell you.

The taste is indescribable.

They also ask you if you want "Yuzu" (a citrus fruit) peels in your soup.

I LOVE Yuzu, so I was like "oh hell YES!" but if you are not sure if you'll like it, then
maybe it's better if you tell them no thanks.

And here is the best part about Tsukemen.

When you finish your Tsukemen, there will be some soup left in your bowl.
If you hand that bowl to the staff and say "Su-pu onegai shimasu"
(which means "Could I have soup please"), then they will add a different soup into your bowl
and give it back to you.

I'm not sure what's this second soup is made out of, but it makes the original soup less salty,
and easy for you to drink.

Yes, the Tsukemen soup st Isoji and many other Ramen places are able to drink to the last drop!

This soup is the BEST part of Tsukemen.

If you haven't tried it yet, boy, you're missing A LOT.

I found an article about Isoji that explains a little more.

Oh and one more thing...

Order ◯得つけ麺 (Maru-Toku Tsukemen) if you go there!

That's the best one in my opinion. :)
